Onde
Privacy
Onde collects no data. No account, no server, no ads, no tracking, no analytics.
On your device and in your iCloud
Your subscriptions, playback positions, queue, notes and moments are stored on your device and synced through your own iCloud account (Apple). Coffee Beans has no access to them.
The AI runs on your device
Transcription, chapters, the Decoder, Ask the Episode, articles and search use Apple Intelligence on your device. Audio and text don’t leave your device for this.
OpenRouter, only if you choose it
In Settings › Intelligence you can add your own OpenRouter key. Only then are the episode’s text (transcript or show notes) and your question sent straight from your device to OpenRouter, with your key, to produce the answer. It’s your OpenRouter account, under its own terms; nothing goes through us. Your key stays in your device’s Keychain. Delete it to stop.
Podcasts and third-party services
To find and play podcasts, the app contacts Apple’s podcast directory, the servers that publish feeds, audio files and artwork, and YouTube when you watch a show’s video (privacy-enhanced player) directly. As with a web browser, these servers see your IP address and apply their own policies.
Purchases
Onde+ is sold by Apple on the App Store. Apple handles payment; we never see your identity or payment details.
Permissions
Speech recognition (on-device transcription), local network (“Listen On…” between your devices), notifications (new episodes). All optional, and you can revoke them in iOS Settings.
